Kindergarten

So far, so good! Delaney just started her second week of Kindergarten. We are so lucky to get into the Arts magnet school that we hoped for and to have friends who are there too! I managed to choke back most of the tears that first morning as she walked into her classroom. She was so happy and excited and that made it so much easier. I was once again reminded how much preschool helped prepare both of us for this. I know she is going to have a great year.

And here's what she really wanted to do...JUMP off the porch! Symbolic I'd say for jumping into the big world of grade school! 

And by the third morning of school, she had lost both her front teeth and was channeling Taylor Swift on the front porch.  What a week.  Those front teeth held on for so long and were pretty traumatic to lose, but I am so in love with this smile.  I wish it would last a while, but I can already see one tooth making it's way down in a hurry.  *sigh* 

So for now, I will be stalking her with the camera so we can see that toothless smile for all our days to come.  She will be six in a few weeks. *double sigh*

One last weekend...

Someone starts Kindergarten Monday morning! 

I am really excited for Delaney, I think she is going to love Kindergarten.  I am really thankful the school district kept half day K and also thankful that Delaney went to preschool last year.  Preschool was such a wonderful and positive experience for us.  I think it will give her so much confidence for this year. We went to meet the teacher and check out the classroom Friday.  Delaney is lucky a few of her favorite friends from preschool are in her class! 

We are making the most of the weekend, did some back to school clothes shopping with grandma Friday, did some with Daddy last weekend.  We saw Spy Kids 4D with cousins yesterday.  Tonight we are heading out to Flying Pie pizza with Delaney's brother Tyler and her cousin Coby... Delaney is hoping to watch the big boys cry as they eat some Habanero Pizza!! :) No really, Delaney is bringing a camera to capture the tears!
